Are You Showing Up?

You know those people who can make you laugh hysterically and move you to tears in the matter of minutes? The ones that have a way of touching your heart and awakening what truly matters to you. They're a rare breed aren't they? I had the pleasure of meeting Karen Kenney this weekend. While listening to this brilliant, hilarious and utterly inspiring woman speak, I sat in awe. "Holy SHIT, this woman was born to do this." I thought to myself, as she spoke on stage with her thick Boston accent. Karen has been a student and teacher of A Course In Miracles for 23 years. She's Marianne Williamson's 'spiritual' daughter and so much more. She openly shared the story… [ Read more ]

How One Conversation Changed My Life & How It Can Change Yours.

Yesterday, I was snuggled up on my couch drinking coffee, thinking about you. Wondering if you’ve ever looked back at those moments where your life took a massive turn. You know the ones where you didn’t see it coming? Where you felt almost desperate for change and then “poof” all of a sudden, someone said the words you needed to hear and life as you know it was never the same. Today, I want to share one of those moments in my life and how it relates to you. I was 21 years old when I had “The Conversation” with my parents that changed my life forever. I’d struggled with a severe, nearly deadly eating disorder through all of my… [ Read more ]

I’m embarrassed to admit I did this.

I still can’t believe I did this. I was in yoga class a couple of weeks ago and the instructor, who’s also my dear friend asked, “Does anyone have an area they want to work on during class?” I blurted out, "HIPS!" Then we kind of got our asses handed to us. She went on to teach a challenging yet fabulous class. Halfway through the sequence someone said, "Thanks Ashley.” Implying they didn’t like the challenge both their mind and body were facing. Just like that I said it, “Sorry Guys.” WTF. You may be thinking, What’s the big deal? Well, I’m going to tell you. I wasn't sorry. At all. My Hips were feeling wonky as hell and I… [ Read more ]

We need you.

Hey Hey Mama, I have so much to tell you today. First, a dream came true for me last Friday. I saw Marianne Williamson speak LIVE in my hometown of Charleston, SC. I sat in awe, hanging onto to every.single.word.she.said. over the course of two hours. This woman has inspired me for over ten years. Since the day I read her book A Return To Love, I knew she was one the greatest spiritual leaders of our time. Over the years, I've read her books, listened to her lectures and each time I feel like I've learned a lifetime of lessons. The messages she shares feel like an invitation to come home to who I really am and they remind… [ Read more ]

Have a case of the guilts?

I can't even count how many times I've been asked this question. "How do you dive into self care and not feel guilty, like you 'should' be doing something else? Especially since becoming a Mom?" I'm not gonna lie. Part of me wants to roll my eyes, the other part of me so deeply understands the challenge of making it a priority. Funny enough, I often wonder how the heck so many of us forgot the undeniable truth that it's vital to our wellbeing to take precious care of ourselves, daily. Really, when and how did this start? We're human beings, with a pulse, with bodies that need fuel, with minds that need exercise and rest, with spirits that need… [ Read more ]
